Land Rover / Jaguar 2.0D Ingenium Engine
We have bought many Jaguar Land Rover cars with the 2.0D ‘Ingenium’ Engine.
This engine can have issues such as timing chain faults, turbo issues, DPF & EGR Faults, oil dilution, total engine failure and seizing. Cars with this engine include the Range Rover Sport, Land Rover Discovery & Discovery Sport, Range Rover Evoque, Jaguar F-Pace, E-Pace XF & XE.
Ford Wetbelt
The 1.0 Ecoboost Turbo Petrol and 2.0 Diesel have a notorious issue with the Wet Belt. This is one of the most common issues we see on a daily basis. The timing belt / cambelt is submerged in oil. The oil degrades the rubber belt, causing numerous issues including low oil pressure, total engine failure or seized engine. Both engines are also prone to turbo and head gasket issues. These cars can also get issues with the vacuum pump and brakes. Cars with these engines include the Kuga, Puma, Focus, Fiesta, Transit, Ranger.
Nissan CVT
The Nissan CVT fitted to the Juke, Qashqai, X-Trail, Micra and Pulsar are prone to issues. This is caused by the internal belt slipping, cooling issues or degraded oil. Symptoms include juddering or ‘jerking’ when moving, failure to go into drive / reverse or, the car not moving at all.
Peugeot/ Citroen/ DS/ Vauxhall/ Puretech PSA
Just like the Ford Ecoboost, the 1.0 and 1.2 PSA Puretech engine uses a wet belt. They are prone to the same issues as listed with the Ecoboost due to the belt degrading. These engines can also suffer with piston ring issues and oil dilution. Cars such as the Peugeot 3008, 5008, DS 3, DS4 , DS7, Citroen C3, C4, C5, Vauxhall Crossland, Grandland, Corsa, Mokka.
Volkswagen/ Skoda/ Audi/ SEAT/ Cupra DSG
The DSG Automatic Gearbox fitted to many VAG cars can develop issues caused by a failed mechatronic unit, worn or broken clutch, software issues or issues with the selector fork. Symptoms include juddering, clunking when shifting, car going into limp mode, car not moving, or the dashboard PRNDS indicator flashing. Cars with the DSG gearbox include Audi A1, A3, A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, Q2, Q3, Q5, Q7 and RS Models. VW Golf & Golf R, Passat, Tiguan, Touareg, T-Roc, Polo, Up. Skoda Karoq, Kodiaq, Octavia, Fabia, Yeti. Seat Leon, Ateca, Arona, Ibiza. Cupra Formentor.
Land Rover / Jaguar 3.0D V6
The 3.0 Jaguar Land Rover V6 (TDV6 & SDV6) fitted to the Range Rover, Discovery 4 & 5, Range Rover Sport and Jaguar F-Pace are prone to crankshaft issues. Repairing this means the engine has to come out, and the engines aren’t always able to be repaired after crankshaft failure. These engines also suffer with turbo issues.
